Like the builder who never does any maintenance on his own house, the web developer can often leave his own website to over ripen on the vine and I have certainly been guilty of this.
When I decided to update the site 4 months or so ago to reflect the new direction the business is heading I started withe a general template that just did not come together no matter what I threw at it.
I would finish a mockup, go to bed and come back the next morning to look at the work and despair at the fact that I remained disappointed with the overall layout and design.
Often the best way to deal with such situations is to move on to something else and that is just what I did in this case. I had client work to do and a number of other longer term projects that required more urgent attention.
I returned to the OVMwebbuilder site from time to time but never really progressed the project beyond a half finished disaster.
One of the new projects I was working on, however, focussed my mind somewhat and it is from that project that this group of Wordpress themes has arisen.
The main theme for the site is the ‘Dark Aurora’ theme – so named because the multi-colored brush strokes in the background reminded me of the northern lights.
There are other themes which you can also click to see. Notably the crazy bright ‘Life’s a Beach’ which may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it was designed as the rain poured down outside in the middle of winter and I longed for the sun and the beach here in Perth.
There are a few more conventional themes as well to show that I can also design for a more conventional business look.
I trust that you have a look around and get some good information about digital marketing or web design and maybe even take some small inspiration from what has been done.
Bedtime now as I am utterly shagged out after having worked on this and other sites for months now without a day off.
